Through the hundreds of applicants who were interested in joining our small team, Zaria and I searched for something that you couldn’t find even in a perfect resume and application: the ability to love what you are doing so much, that it didn’t feel like work. Like hidden gems, Amanda and Stefani checked every box for what we were looking for. Since joining the team they’ve proved themselves to be passionate, goal-driven creatives who continue to have a positive impact on this magazine.
Now it’s your turn to meet the names behind some of our amazing content, Amanda and Stefanie!
All through college I got really big into the music scene and became friends with a lot of the musicians in town and went to all the shows. I have such a passion for music, and I have always loved helping promote all my friend’s music and shows. When I heard about RecordDrop I got so excited. I loved the idea and how they help promote indie artists because I have always loved doing that. I worked with local musicians from music videos to photos to cover art. I immediately had faith in this company, and even though it is pretty small right now, it definitely has potential to grow. Being a part of this team has been so fun and rewarding. I love telling all my musician friends back home and from all over about it. I know a lot of people out there trying to get their music heard and this is the perfect place. I also had experience creating my own art magazine with friends, where we were able to interview bands and do fun shoots with them. When I heard originally about the webazine I got so excited because it is one of my favorite things ever and I love putting them together. My biggest interest is photography, and it has been so fun going around New York capturing music in different areas and being able to showcase that. I got really lucky with this internship, I risked moving here last month with no opportunities and this one came, and I got so excited. I am even more excited to see where this company goes and how it will grow!
My name is Amanda and I’ve been interning here at RecordDrop for the past several months. Though it’s only been a short while it feels like I’ve been here all along!
When I first found RecordDrop it was on a whim. I saw that they were looking for someone who was willing to write articles, make social media posts, and get creative. Right then, I knew this was the job for me. I wanted to be part of something that allowed artists and listeners to take control of their musical experience. RecordDrop does just that.
Music has played a big role in my life. Having played and studied it for the past fourteen years I knew that I wanted to find a way to combine it with another passion of mine: writing. Interning at RecordDrop has allowed me to do just that. While I had never written an article before, RecordDrop gave me the courage to do so. Not only do I want to thank RecordDrop for this opportunity, but I want to say that I am truly looking forward to seeing what’s next for both RecordDrop and the webazine.
