What’s your screen time? Maybe 5 hours, 10 hours, non-stop coping with the world around you?
In a time when most are using social media as a distraction, Capri Everitt is using it to her advantage.
In just the 30 minutes we got to know a little about Capri, it was evident that she doesn’t just have the talent and beauty that has taken over millions of her followers’ hearts and music playlists, she also has an amazing work ethic and truly loves what she does. She is not afraid to hustle for it either. Looking into the busy life behind this 16-year-old rising pop star, children’s activist, and social media influencer, you would think she has the mindset of a much older accomplished musician.
“Watching videos of artists that inspire me and seeing them perform, it’s something I want to do so badly!” Capri explains in our RecordDrop Sessions Interview.
“When I see videos of them, I’m like, ‘I need to do this and that today,” because I want to be doing all of that one day. Setting goals really helped me get through the first months of the pandemic and finding things that inspire me.”
As someone who is also part of Gen Z, just hearing the words, “posting more than seven Tiktoks a day,” gave me a heart attack. In a time when most of us are trying to use platforms like TikTok to distract ourselves from the world, Capri made sure that the world would know her name. Whether it is her original music or covers, dancing, comedy, and sharing her fashion sense the internet and her fans can’t get enough of it!
That determination for world stardom is not something new. At just 12 years old, Capri knew that if she wanted to be recognized as a singer, she would have to do something crazy. In her mind, it only made sense to pull off a world record. She did just that, traveling with her family to 80 different countries singing 80 different national anthems. With all the attention ahead, she knew that she did not want to share the stage alone. All donations for the tour would go to SOS Children’s Villages, which as she highlights in the beginning our interview, solves an issue that is dear to her heart.
All eyes are on the shinning career ahead of Capri Everitt, and we know that soon, she is going to take over the charts.
Watch our exclusive RecordDrop Session’s interview to hear the backstory behind her fame and what her fans around the world can look forward to soon.
We asked Capri Everitt some questions we knew fans are dying to know about
Who are your musical inspirations?
“I really love Ariana Grande because she has an amazing style and an incredible voice. I also love Shawn Mendes as he is a great singer and musician.”
You’ve performed hundreds, maybe even thousands of times: Have you ever had stage fright?
“Honestly, most of the time I don’t have stage fright, but there have been times for sure. For instance, when I was performing at the Liverpool M&S Bank Arena last summer for the opening ceremonies of the Vitality Netball World Championships, I was a bit nervous for the Ugandan national anthem as I had just learned it the month before!”
When did you know you wanted to be a singer? How did your friends and family react?
“I have wanted to be a singer since as long as I can remember. I performed “Castle on a Cloud” when I was five years old and absolutely had a blast. I knew at that point that I would be a performer for life.”
Would you rather sing for a huge stadium crowd or small intimate setting?
“I would definitely rather sing for a huge stadium as that has been my dream for as long as I can remember. Intimate settings are nice, but something about performing in a stadium gets me excited as the possibilities are endless. “
If you could only perform one of your songs for the rest of your career, which would it be?
“If I had to perform one song for the rest of my career, it would probably be my new song “Y”. It isn’t released yet but I’m so excited for all of my supporters and friends to hear it, as well as the other two I will be releasing this year.”
What is one interesting fact about yourself that your fans might not know about?
“I can do impressions of just about anyone.”
If you could describe your perfect day, what would it be like?
“My perfect day would probably include these three things: traveling, performing and recording. It would also be jam-packed and full of excitement.”
What is one message you want to give to your fans around the world?
“Stay inspired despite all the hardships! Especially right now, in this weird world we live in.”
What made you interested in joining a RecordDrop Session?
“Honestly, anything that can help me grow as an artist and help me meet new people in the world of music is helpful for me. I thought RecordDrop sounded like such a cool concept and I wanted to be a part of the project!”
Where can our Webazine readers find you and your music?
“You can find me on all platforms with my name Capri Everitt.”
